Pokemon Conquest: The Legend of Ransei prt9

In August, after recruiting Ekei and his Cottonee, Takeyoshi and his Carnivine, and Terumoto and his own Cottonee, Asami started to shuffle her Warriors around before heading off to Fontaine. She left Hideaki, Ekei, and Takamoto in charge of Aurora. She, Oichi, Takatora, Rikyu, Terumoto, and Takeyoshi headed off to Fontaine with their partners in September. When they got to Fontaine Castle, they were greeted by a man with two-toned blue hair. He had a slight pirate-y look to him with his shirtless appearance and chain belt. It had to be Motochika Chosokabe. He spoke first, having already gleaned their intentions. "You wish to challenge me in battle…and what would your name be?" he asked. "I'm Asami Adachi, Warlord of Aurora." Asami announced.

Motochika seemed unimpressed. "So you are Asami? I'd heard that Aurora had a new Warlord. But I always thought we would meet on the battlefield in Aurora, not here." he said. Asami bristled a little but she didn't show it. Motochika seemed confident that if they met in battle in her homeland, he would win. Then again, he had the home field advantage here in Fontaine so it was really all his to gain and hers to lose. "Well, never mind. A battle is a battle, no matter where it takes place." he said. He led Asami and her party to his battlefield. A river controlled by flood gates presented the gimmick. Motochika sent out his Oshawatt. His vassals sent out a Piplup, a Wooper, and a Panpour.

Carnivine and Cottonee carried the day. They were instrumental in defeating the Water users. "Fontaine Castle is ours!" Asami cried in joy. Motochika approached with a grin. "You won fair and square. The kingdom of Fontaine is yours. But even though my castle is lost, my Pokémon will never leave me. Together, we will continue to resist the tides of fate." he said. "It was an honor battling you, Lord Motochika." said Asami. "Likewise, Lady Asami. I foresee you taking this region by storm. May good fortune bring you to sunny shores on your journey. Nobuchika, Chikamasa, and Morichika will serve you from now on. You'll find their Panpour, Piplup, and Wooper to be of some help." he said. They shook hands and Motochika departed for parts unknown, his Oshawatt at his side.

That night, Oichi found Asami sitting outside looking at the stars. "Oh, Lady Asami. Congratulations." she said. Asami looked concerned at the sad look on her best friend's face. "What's wrong, Oichi?" she asked. The girl was quiet for a moment before speaking. "You've heard the stories, too, haven't you, Lady Asami?" she asked. At her leader's questioning look, she elaborated. "The legendary Pokémon who is said to appear before the one who conquers all of the kingdoms. The truth is that...right now…Ransei is on the brink of destruction." she said. Asami got serious. What was different about this cycle of war that the whole of Ransei could be destroyed. Oichi spoke of a Warlord far to the north who walked the path of supreme conquest, something more than what was usual for the cycles of war that had plagued the region.
