"And now you're here. I think this could be the most fun I've had in years!" Yoshihiro said as he led them to his battlefield. It was another Capture the Flag sort of deal but the flags were on a platform surrounded by a trench. Yoshihiro explained the object of the battle was to hold the flags for five turns but there was a catch. Because the flags were in the corners of the platform, an attack from an opposing Pokémon would knock the defending Pokémon off and they would have to try again. It was going to be a very tricky battle. Asami felt more nervous now than ever before. But she was determined to win at all costs, even if she had to call a tactical retreat if they lost.

Yoshihiro's group included a Pansage, a Machop, and two Timburrs, along with his own Gurdurr. The battle was harder than Asami ever imagined but some good strategizing helped secure the victory for them. They held all the banners for five turns and knocked out Yoshihiro's partner and allies out for an added bonus. Darumaka was the only one KO-ed on Asami's side. "Pugilis Castle is ours!" she proclaimed. "Phew. You are a worthy winner. But this is all part of the rich tapestry of battle." said Yoshihiro, coming up to her. "You're not so bad yourself, Lord Yoshihiro." said Asami, smiling. "Victory tastes all the sweeter once you have known the bitterness of defeat. Anyway, congratulations. You won a battle that will be talked about for years to come." he said.

"I'm honored to have fought you." Asami agreed. Yoshihiro pat her head before heading off with his allies. When he was out of sight, that was when she collapsed. "Lady Asami!?" Hideaki cried, worried. "I'm okay. Just overwhelmed that we won." she said. "You did great, my Lady. Let's just go some rest and we'll plan our next move later." he said. Oichi helped Asami to her feet. Tadatsune and his Pansage were recruited from the Shimazu forces and was sent to Chrysalia to shore up their defenses there. Asami even got a surprise. "Huh? Something's happening to Mareep." she said. She and her army watched as Mareep evolved into Flaaffy. Takatora also had a surprise when his Charmander evolved into Charmeleon.

"Congratulations, Lady Asami! You now have seven kingdoms under your control." said Oichi. Right on cue, Mitsunari and his friends appeared. "Are you always this pleased with yourselves?" asked the boy in red. Asami scowled. She wasn't in the mood for his lectures but she wasn't about to dignify his question with a response. "Surely you are aware of the crisis facing Ransei as we speak." Mitsunari went on. He spoke that the impasse Nobunaga had with Terrera and Illusio was still holding strong. Shingen and Kenshin were well known and respected as great Warlords. Even Nobunaga was said to fear them. It was considered an honor to do battle with them.
Part 16 in which Asami battles Yoshihiro, wins Pugilis Castle, witnesses two Pokemon evolutions, and in which she learns of the impasse Nobunaga has with Terrera and Illusio.

Hideaki serves as the tactical adviser in the story, at least until Yukimura shows up and takes over the role. So you'll be hearing from him a bit until then.

In my word program, I just completed the game and the bulk of the story. I'm currently finishing the epilogue bits to finish it off. Just to tell you: there's a tiny romantic subplot between Asami and Yukimura but between going through all those kingdoms and not stretching it beyond my ability to focus on the major events of the game, it takes on a very minor role. So forgive me if it seems contrived or forced when it shows up.

This story is probably one of the quickest I wrote, taking about a week and a half or so. Right now it's at 39 pages and may extend to 40, making it one of my longer ones. Tomorrow, if I get it finished tonight, I'll have a final page count for you.
